Come to Me

A painting of a compassionate figure embracing a person in distress, conveying a sense of comfort and support.

Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

On Monday, July 7th we celebrated Tim’s 70th birthday. A few months, and even a few weeks ago, we did not know if he would make it to his 70th birthday. But by the grace of God, he did.

That morning a package arrived addressed via Fed Ex. By the shape of the box, I knew what it was. A few days before the box arrived my sister-in-law, Marlene told me she was sending me something. A few days before that she had sent me a email with the above picture attached to it. I was so moved by it, I wept.

I wept when I saw the box. Yes, Marlene had a metal copy of the AI image made and sent to us.

I was still weeping when my friend Shayla and I finished hanging it on the wall
