Grace Gloria

Welcome to “Faith Walking”

The theme of this blog, and my life, is wrapped up in this verse 1 Corinthians 5:7

“We walk by faith, not by sight”.

I was born in 1949, the oldest of six children. I am Grace, but I wasn’t always, Grace. My parents named me Jonnie. I changed my name to Grace when I was 50 years old. Click here to read the story of my name change.

The Lord Knows My Name

In 1980 I published about about my family’s first four years of fishing in Southeast Alaska. The book is titled “Two Crows Came”. The title reflects the superstitions of my first husband, Bob’s Uncle Harley. Uncle Harley took us to Alaska and taught us how to fish.

The events recorded in Two Crows Came all happened before I became a Christian. When I wrote the book I was still married to Bob, but I had become a Christian. Bob hated my Christianity. I thought I had to appease him so I was very careful not to mention anything about the Lord when I wrote the book.

Now, all these years later, I see how the events of my life are all part of the path the Lord directed to bring me to Himself.

As I started to write my life’s journey of walking by faith, I saw that I needed to re-write Two Crows Came to that part of my life as part of my path to faith.

I am working on that re-write, and posting it on this blog, chapter by chapter. My hope is that it will illustrate that:

the mind of man (or woman) plans her way, but the Lord directs her steps. Proverbs 16:9
